CDDMS proceeded Google Music by more than 10 years. It was a revolutionary digital music service providing a direct, legal and profitable connection between music sellers and music buyers. Like Google Music today, CDDMS enabled customers with Internet connected devices to purchase, instantly listen, store, and access their music from anywhere, anytime. We developed an array of functional modules for the for the site, including music encoding and ingestion, user registration, merchant and content management systems. Interaction, presentation and graphic design was approachable, functional and easy to understand and use. We also developed a WAP interface along with a GUI download manager. Any WAP enabled device could connect, authorize, access and activate play lists. Call back and direct to telephony play out functions were implemented to provide any place access to stored music. We walked away from CDDMS in 2001, surely one of the most boneheaded moves of our careers.
